Change Management Explained
I think it is important to determine what is meant by the phrase “Change Management”.
This can be summed up as follows:
During any construction project it is inevitable that something is either changed or added to. Within industry, these would be determined as a variation to the project/contract.
A change in regards to a construction project can be:
- Revised drawings
- Implication of materials
- Implication of site conditions
- Implication of the duration of a project/completion date
- RFI’s (Request for Further Information)
It doesn’t matter which of the above is the main reason for a change, a contractor must have in place a change management strategy/procedure to prevent this becoming a financial problem for them.
Should you wish to discuss the above in more detail or need assistance with any commercial aspects of your construction projects, please don’t hesitate to contact me, either through my website www.qsadvisor.com or via e-mail grant@qsadvisor.com.
